T.I.’s Paper Trail Reissue Cancelled
July 14, 2009 by Porky · 2 Comments

For months, T.I. fans — and the man himself — have been talking about the re-release of his chart-topping Paper Trail album, a project intended to tide everyone over until the rapper finishes serving his 366-day prison sentence on felony weapons charges.
The reissue (tentatively titled Paper Trail: Case Closed) was supposed to feature as many as five new tracks, including collaborations with The-Dream, Ciara and first single “Remember Me,” Tip’s track with Mary J. Blige; a video for the song premiered Tuesday on MTV.com. There was no firm release date for the album, but various retailers had it hitting stores on August 18.

T.I. begins federal prison sentence in Arkansas

Rapper T.I. entered an Arkansas federal prison Tuesday to begin a year and a day sentence on a weapon charge.
T.I., whose real name is Clifford J. Harris Jr., still made a concert-like entrance to the Forrest City low-security prison — likely showing up 29 minutes late inside of a black conversion van with tinted windows. T.I was to report at noon CT, but the deadline passed as guards outside blocked reporters and onlookers from coming near the facility on a rural state highway.
It was not immediately clear if T.I.’s late arrival would affect his plea deal with prosecutors.

T.I. to Re-Release Paper Trail with 5 New Songs
April 7, 2009 by Porky · Leave a Comment

T.I. said he wants to spend the time before his upcoming prison stint with his family, but the Grand Hustle rapper surprised many when he popped up onstage with Young Jeezy and Ludacris last weekend in Atlanta.
His plans may include a family vacation and seeing one more birthday, as Tip told MTV News’ Sway during their interview that airs Tuesday evening during “T.I.’s Road to Redemption: The Reckoning.” But T.I. also intends to re-release his album Paper Trail with new tracks before the year’s end, so an appearance here and there to tease some new records might be in order.
T.I. said the project will include five additional songs. He acknowledged he has a number of tracks he’s already recorded to choose from: an early, leaked version of Paper Trail featured collaborations with The-Dream (”Like I Do”) and Ciara (”My Dear”) that didn’t make the initial commercial release of the album. The rapper also has his hands on a Kanye West verse that was scrapped from the album to make way for the Roc-A-Fella star’s guest turn on “Swagga Like Us.”

Atlanta rap artist T.I. will go to federal prison sometime after Mother’s Day and serve a year and a day for crimes that might get anybody else about five years in the slammer.
In October 2007, Atlanta rapper T.I. was arrested by federal undercover agents in a Midtown parking lot trying to buy machine guns, ammo and silencers.
At a sentencing hearing Friday in Atlanta, the 27-year-old singer (real name: Clifford Harris Jr. — latest CD: “Paper Trail”), told U.S. District Court Judge Charles Pannell Jr. he was sorry, humbled by his arrest, and a changed man.
“I am a man of integrity, I’m a man of morals, of standards, of principle,” he told Pannell. “I know it’s difficult to believe that — looking at my criminal history.”
