Akon Mobbed by 300 Fans…Hides in Burger King

R&B star Akon was mobbed by 300 fans in the UK earlier this week. He was on his way to watch a movie.when he saw a couple of people fighting. Akon took out his camera to film the incident.
“It was really funny so I started filming it on my phone.” Akon told Daily Star. “I forgot who I was for a second, and people started to notice me - before I knew it I was being mobbed by about 300 fans.”
Eventually he ran to a nearby Burger King to get away from the fans, He added, “They had to sneak us out the back and I never did get to see that film.”
Rihanna’s Award Mistakenly Given Away

During the Frenech NRJ Music Award this Saturday US Pop star Katy Perry was given the award for International Song of the Year. At the end of the show, the host revealed that they had made a mistake in counting the votes and that Rihanna should have been the winner for her song “Disturbia”.
In related news, Rihanna just released her new single “How I Like It” earlier this week.

21 is the second album from R&B singer and former B2K frontman Omarion. The first single off the album was “Entourage” written by Andre Merritt and produced by Eric Hudson. The second single “Ice Box”, produced by Timbaland and King Logan and Sir John of The Royal Court.nOther collaborators on the album include Pharrell, songwriter Bryan Michael Cox and Andre Merritt (writer of Entourage) and Eric Hudson (producer of “Entourage”, respectively). The album landed at number one in the Billboard 200, selling 119,000 copies in its first week. Making it his second album to hit #1, although selling 60,000 less than his debut solo album O. It has sold 390,000 copies in the United States up to November 2008.

Ghetto Classics is Jaheim’s third album with Warner Bros. Records. The album is the follow up to his two well established platinum records. The album was released in February 2006, and debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200, selling 153,000 copies in its first week of release. Shortly after it quickly fell down the charts. Still, the album was the first R&B #1 album of the year (Mary J. Blige’s The Breakthrough and Jamie Foxx’s Unpredictable were released in late 2005 and hit #1 in early 2006). The album has spawned the moderate hit “Everytime I Think about Her”, featuring Jadakiss. Although the album stayed on the album charts for only thirteen weeks, it was certified Gold on March 21, 2006.

Reality Check is an album from rapper Juvenile which was released on March 7, 2006. It became Juvenile’s first album to hit number one on the Billboard 200 chart, selling 176,000 copies in its first week. As of February of 2007 the album had sold 527,000. The album was leaked to the Internet on February 22, 2006, two weeks before its official release. It features artists such as Paul Wall, Mike Jones, Fat Joe, and Ludacris making guest appearances, among others. The first single was “Rodeo” produced by Cool and Dre, which charted on the Hot 100 and peaked at a modest #41. The second single was “Get Ya Hustle On”, followed by “Way I Be Leanin’”, which premiered on MTV’s Making the Video.

Unfinished Business is the second collaboration LP between R. Kelly and Jay-Z (following The Best of Both Worlds, their first collaboration in 2002), released in 2004. The album was, allegedly, composed of previously unreleased tracks from the Best of Both Worlds sessions. It was seen by critics and the general public as just a money making opportunity for both artists and a play to push a summer tour. The first single was “Big Chips”.

Jamie Foxx’s Talks About His New Album “Intuition”

Actor & R&B singer Jamie Foxx says he has been working on a new album “Intuition” for the past 2 years. Despite his last album “Unpredictable” going double-platinum status, Foxx wants the new album to have a different sound.
Foxx said, “‘Unpredictable” was more, like, slow, bedroom things, which was great but when I went on the road we had all these ballads, so sometimes I had to work a little harder to keep people’s attention,” Foxx added, “With (’Intuition’), we’ve got all these legitimate club, international hits and the tempo is up. People hear this record and go absolutely nuts for it.”
“Intuition” will feature guest appearances from T.I., Kanye West, T-Pain, Ne-Yo, Fabolous, Lil Wayne and more.
The album will release December 16, 2008 via J-Records

Beyonce Releasing New Album in November

Beyonce has announced she will be releasing her third solo album on November 18. The untitled project will include Justin Timberlake, Pharrell, and Kanye West.
To promote the album, the Grammy Award winning singer will release the two singles “If I Were a Boy” and “Single Ladies” simultaneously.
Beyonce’s last album “B-Day” has sold more than 3 million copies in U.S.
R&B singer Digga signs with Atlantic Records

UK R&B singer Digga has signed with Atlantic Records after the success of his underground hit song “Broken”.
The singer has seized the #1 Artist on the Myspace R&B chart and hundreds of fan-made videos of “Broken” appeared on YouTube before it was even released commercially.
Digga has began working on his first album and has collaborated with MJ Cole, Chase & Status and more.

Usher planning “Ladies-Only” concerts

Usher is planning to promote his record “Here I Stand” by having a “ladies only” tour. The r&b singer said: “There are only a few artists that can pull that off. I feel like I’ve had such a connection with my audience. This album, I felt, was definitely the type that was more intimate. So what better way to get up close and personal than to make it all women?”
The 29 year old singer is planning to perform 15 of these “ladies-only” concerts on the “One Night Stand” tour and plan to make his own line of lingerie and men’s undergarments to go with the theme.
“The ladies like to see that masculine build,” he said. “They question if I still got it.”
Usher is currently working on a video for his single “Trading Places” and will perform at the NFL’s opening kickoff concert on Thursday.
Ex-Label UEG to Release Leona Lewis Album with Unheard Tracks

Pop star Leona Lewis, winner of X Factor (a music talent show in the UK), is mad because her Ex-Label is going to release 10 new songs that was recorded in 2006 before Lewis won the UK Competition.
“Leona made it (the album) before she was famous and didn’t expect it to come back to haunt her like this.” a newspaper source said.
After winning X Factor, Lewis was signed to Simon Cowell’s company Syco and the singer left her old label UEG. However, her old label have won the rights to release the unreleased tracks in a new album that will be due in October.
The source added, “The album was finished in 2006 and due for release that year. Then Leona won X Factor and all communications between her and UEG stopped.”
The release of this new album will go head-to-head against the re-release of her debut album “Spirit”.
