Jay-Z Defends Michael Phelps

Jay-Z has jumped to the defense of Olmypian Michael Phelps over his recent pot-smoking scandal.

“You look at all these people who graduated from Princeton and Harvard, who are supposed to be pillars of the community — every day [they’re] in the newspaper arrested for some kind of financial fraud,” said the 99 Problems hitmaker. “Then you look at someone like Michael Phelps. He’s 23. What’s he gonna do? He’s a kid. He’s going to experiment.”

The rapper, real name Shawn Corey Carter, went on to say, “They say there’s no honor among thieves — that’s not really true. When I was on the street . . . if you back on your word [out there], they don’t take you to court. You can cause yourself some real problems.

Kanye West Defends Chris Brown, Michael Phelps’ Pot Pics

Kanye West’s controversial comments during a Feb. 13 taping of VH1’s Storytellers will be cut before the show airs this Sunday, Reuters reports.

The rapper defended Chris Brown, downplayed Michael Phelps’ controversial pot pics and slammed Radiohead during the show’s three-hour taping on Feb. 13 in L.A.

In the style of Storytellers episodes, VH1 filmed West — known for his outspoken personality — as he played his songs in an intimate setting and shared tidbits with the audience about how they were written. His controversial comments ended up on the cutting room floor, but not for political reasons, executive producer Bill Flanagan told Reuters.

“Can’t we give Chris a break?” West said to the crowd regarding Brown’s arrest for allegedly beating his girlfriend, Rihanna “I know I make mistakes in life.”

Michael Phelps to Host SNL, Lil Wayne to Perform

Olympic gold medalist Michael Phelps will be hosting the season premiere of Saturday Night Live on September 13th.

Phelps, who listens to Lil Wayne’s “Im Me” before he swims, will get to see the rapper perform on the season premiere of SNL as well.

Last year, SNL had NBA star LeBron James host the premiere.
