Mariah Carey’s Album Delayed Until Sept. 29

Originally scheduled for an August 25th release date and then September 15th, Mariah Carey’s upcoming 12th studio album, “Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel,” has been delayed yet again. “Memoirs” will now arrive two weeks later on September 29th.

The singer has also pulled out of a string of appearances surrounding the album’s release, including “VH1 Storytellers,” the “Today” Show concert series, 2009 MTV Video Music Awards and her Hollywood Walk of Fame star ceremony.

According to a source at Def Jam, the label Carey is signed to, the reason for the delay is that the singer hasn’t completed the album and needs to return to the studio to record additional songs.

Mariah Carey Makes Offer on World’s Most Expensive Mansion

Pop diva Mariah Carey has reportedly made an offer on Fleur de Lys, the world’s most expensive estate, which is listed at $125 million. The the palatial 15-bedroom mansion in Beverly Hills (above) was built by Texan billionaire David Saperstein. The five-acre estate is home to a 41,000-square foot French limestone mansion inspired by France’s magnificent Vaux le Vicomte palace outside Paris. It features Italian marble walls, French limestone floors, gold-embossed leather wall coverings, gold-leaf crown moldings, a ballroom with ceiling frescoes, a library complete with rare books, two kitchens and a screening room with seating for 50.
