Lil Jon to Release “Crunk Rock” in November

After a lengthy three-year delay, Lil Jon has finally set a Nov 24 release date for his first solo album, ‘Crunk Rock.’ Lil Jon told Rolling Stone that the long-awaited LP would be different from his signature work thanks to the help of several producers outside of his comfort zone, including DJ David Guetta, RedOne and Dr. Luke, who have created hit singles for the Black Eyed Peas, Lady Gaga and Katy Perry respectively.

Jon said that instead of his original plan to compose a half-rock/half-hip hop album, he decided to experiment a little more musically. “I kind of took Crunk Rock to another level,” he said. “It’s not just dealing with crunk music and rock — it’s basically a lifestyle. Living life to the fullest, getting crazy, getting crunk and just partying… I’m just trying to make everybody have fun and make ‘em dance again. Because in rap, people stopped partying.”

Lil Jon Signs With Universal Republic

Lil Jon has signed a recording deal with Universal Republic to release his “Crunk Rock” during the first half of 2009.

Under the deal the rapper will have his own label imprint and serve as an A&R consultant for the label.

“I’m excited to find a new home in Universal Republic, they’ve got a great team over there. A lot of big things comin’ from me, get ready! I been workin’ hard on my new material and it’s time everybody hears it!” Lil Jon said.

Lil Jon’s last album “Crunk Juice” has sold more than 2.5 million copies in the U.S.

Lil Jon agrees on deal with The Orchard

The multi-platinum and Grammy Award-winning recording artist Lil Jon has agreed on a deal with The Orchard (The company who acquired TVT Records).

Under the new deal, The rapper/producer will allow The Orchard to digitally reissue Lil Jon’s back catalogue, including Put Yo Hood Up, Kings of Crunk and 2004’s smash Crunk Juice. Lil Jon will also withdraw his multi-million-dollar objection to the TVT sale proceedings, and agreed to TVT’s transfer of his artist recording agreement to The Orchard.

In return, Lil Jon will be released from all future obligations under the previous TVT contract and agreed that Lil Jon owns all rights in the master recordings for his forthcoming and highly anticipated album “Crunk Rock”.

“I walked into The Orchard and came away with the sweet taste of freedom!” said Lil Jon. “Others talk, The Orchard does. I expect to do great things with them, and look forward to my future.”

Lil Jon & The East Side Boyz was a pioneer of crunk movement selling over 12 million records in the U.S. Lil Jon has also produced some of the biggest hits of the past decade, including Usher’s “Yeah” and Ciara’s “Goodies,” along with his own smash songs “Get Low” and “Lovers & Friends”.
