Slipknot Beats The Game on Soundscan’s sales chart

Slipknot has beaten The Game for the #1 album in this week’s Nielsen SoundScan chart. The Game’s previous two albums (The Documentary and Devil’s Advocate) had #1 debuts but this time the rapper lost to the metal group by less than 1,200 copies.
Slipknot’s “All Hope Is Gone” sold 239,516 copies, while The Game’s “LAX” sold 238,382 copies.
The Game’s previous album, “Doctor’s Advocate” debut with 358,000 copies.
The Game beats out Slipknot, Solange Flops (August 26 to September 1)

The Game and Slipknot fighting for number 1 album

The Game’s “LAX” and Slipknot’s “All Hope is Gone” album are fighting for the #1 spot on next week’s album sales chart. Early sales indicate both are expected to move about 250,000 copies.
The Game’s debut album “The Documentary” has sold 6 million copies in the U.S. while his 2nd album “Doctor’s Advocate” has sold almost 1 million. Both albums debut #1 in the United States.
