April 30, 2009 by Diablo20z · Leave a Comment

The recently sue-happy rapper, Lil Wayne, has filed suit against a producer that allegedly used a sample in his track, “I Feel Like Dying,” without the original artist’s permission. This particular lawsuit comes after his attempt to sue a filmmaker, which was denied by a California judge last week, and his pending legal proceedings with DJ Drama, which was officially filed about 3 weeks ago.

According to MTVNews, Karma-Ann Swanepoel, a folk singer, originally sued the rapper for copyright infringement last year. She accused Lil Wayne of illegally sampling parts of her song “Once” in “I Feel Like Dying.”

Wayne’s lawsuit accuses the song producers, Rebel Rock Productions Inc., of failing to obtain the proper licensing agreements. The Associated Press reports that Rebel Rock has given no formal response to Wayne’s claims and does not have a lawyer named in the court’s legal documents. The company’s listed telephone number is no longer in service.

Hip-hop star T-Pain got slapped with a lawsuit Monday in Broward Circuit Court — for canceling a major concert in Guyana last month because of alleged kidnap and death threats.

The plaintiff, Hits and Jams Entertainment, says the 23-year-old rapper and his reps became a major pain by making grandiose demands — from a private jet and FBI protection to a phone chat with Guyana’s president.

T-Pain, paid $75,000 in advance, failed to appear, according to the complaint filed by Miami attorney Ron Lowy.

Ne-Yo wins $700k for getting dropped from R. Kelly tour

September 3, 2008 by Porky · Leave a Comment

A Los Angeles judge has ordered the concert promoters, Rowe Entertainment Inc., to pay Ne-Yo $700,320 for a lawsuit filed against them earlier this year.

The incident stemmed from Ne-Yo getting dropped from R. Kelly’s tour last year after 2 shows.

According to rumors, Ne-Yo was stealing too much of the spotlight from the headliner R. Kelly.

Because the concert promoters never answered the suit, Ne-Yo won by default and the company was ordered to pay the r&b singer.

Rapper Yung Joc Sued For Child Support

August 16, 2008 by Porky · Leave a Comment

Yung Joc’s baby mama Fatimah Jester is looking to get paid. Jester claims the Grammy-nominated rapper whose real name is Jasiel Robinson owes her $2,000 in back child support. The rapper currently lives in Riverdale while Jester lives with their 7 year old son Amoni.

Jester said Yung Joc has missed numerous court-ordered payments which caused her to be late on her bills. Jester says the payments should be chump change because Yung Joc is a famous wealthy rapper with a luxury car rental business.

“Mr. Robinson has all kinds of cars, Bentleys, Mercedes Benz, Ranger Rovers, Two Range rovers,” said Jester. “The type of money he makes, $2,000 is nothing.”

A judge is set to hear the case in court on Sept. 11.
