Akon Pleads Guilty in Fan-Tossing Case

Today Akon plead guilty to harassment in a New York court after he tossed a teenage boy off stage. The incident occurred last summer at a stadium near Poughkeepsie, NY where Akon was performing. His punishment will be 65 hours of community service and $250 fine.

Akon’s latest album “Freedom” has sold about 160,000 copies in its first 2 weeks.

Akon Performing Free Show For MySpace Friends

Akon will be performing a free show for his MySpace friends on December 1 at the China Club in New York City. The singer will be performing the show to promote and celebrate the release of his 3rd studio album “Freedom” which goes on sale on December 2.

Fans who want to join the event will have to printout a their MySpace profile displaying Akon on their Top 8 friends list. Space will be limited so it will be a first-come, first-serve.

Final Album Rating 8.25/10

“Freedom” is Akon’s third studio album. The album has great production but the melody and lyrics aren’t as great as his previous two albums. The story and lyric are pretty much the same throughout the album. One thing I wonder is why Akon decided to make the worst song on the album “Freedom” (Track 13) the name of the album. Overall the album is still pretty good. By the way, am I the only one who thinks Akon uses a vocoder? He sounds way different when he performs live.
