T.I. can vote despite felony status
October 30, 2008 by Porky

Rapper T.I. finally voted in the upcoming presidential election. After being convicted of a felony the rapper was unaware that he can still vote. Under Georgia law, felons are eligible as long as they are no longer serving probation or serving a prison sentence.
“Now rather than just talking about it, I’m being about it. I’m leading by example, and it makes me feel a lot better” the 27 year old said.
“Until he is sentenced in the federal case, he doesn’t have a conviction yet,” T.I.’s attorney confirmed. “Even though he is a convicted felon, he has a right to vote since he is not serving probation and hasn’t started his prison sentence.”
T.I. added, “It was definitely worth standing in line and doing all the things people complain about voting. I think it’s more than worth it.”
