Notorious Made $20 Million On Opening Weekend

The movie “Notorious” debut at number 4 earning $20,497,596 this weekend and $23,393,472 total in the first 4 days of release despite the film only showing in 1,638 theaters. Each theater earned an average of $12,514 which is more than any movie this week.
Comparing Notorious to previous rap films, it still has a long way to go. 50 Cent’s Get Rich or Die Tryin’ movie grossed $46,442,528 worldwide and Eminem’s 8 Miles grossed $242,818,963 worldwide.
Notorious is a 2009 biopic film about the life of hip hop star Christopher Wallace / Biggie Smalls / The Notorious B.I.G., who is played by Jamal Woolard. The film co-stars Angela Bassett as his mother Voletta Wallace, Derek Luke as Sean Combs, and Anthony Mackie as Tupac Shakur. Other roles include Naturi Naughton as Lil’ Kim and Antonique Smith as Faith Evans.
