Eminem to perform at MTV Movie Awards
April 13, 2009 by Porky

Who wants their EmTV? Detroit rapper Eminem will perform at the 2009 MTV Movie Awards, the music channel just announced.
The show, which is MTV’s mostly humorous take on Hollywood’s big flicks, is scheduled to air live at 9 p.m. May 31 from the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, Calif.
“Saturday Night Live” funnyman Andy Samberg has been tapped to host the shindig.
Other performers and presenters will be added to the lineup.
Em’s performance at the Movie Awards, his first on MTV since his 2006 appearance on the now defunct “TRL,” will follow the May 19 release of his new album “Relapse,” his first full-length album of solo material since 2004’s “Encore.”
Eminem’s last performance at the MTV Movie Awards was in 2005, where he performed “Ass Like That” and “Mockingbird” — two singles from “Encore.”
According to MTV.com, viewers can vote online and on their mobile phones to select the nominees for the 18th annual Movie Awards.
On May 4, the nominees will officially be announced, and viewers will once again be able to vote for their favorites.
The second round of voting closes May 18 with the exception of the Best Movie category, which will remain open throughout the show.
