First I want to say that I have no problem with Rick Ross being a former CO. I do have a problem with him pretending to be somebody he’s not. The lyrics in this album is ridiculously lame considering he was never a drug dealer. If Bow Wow got grilled for naming his album “New Jack City Part II” then Ross should get the same treatment for rapping about things he never did. Rick Ross is exactly who I thought he was…a “Relieve Rapper” (like a relieve pitcher in baseball). Ross needs people to set him up with a hot beat and make a hot hook in order for his songs to succeed. Just look at his singles from his last album “Trilla”. All 3 singles featured guest rappers. Ross is a one dimensional rapper with one flow. He cannot adapt to the different beats and cannot make a hot hook. A quick look at the tracklist and you can see that 10 of his 14 songs contains guest appearances because no one wants to listen to a 5 minute track of him talking about how much of a boss he is. In the end of the day, the guest appearances probably saved his album from being a complete flop. I think Rick Ross will probably sell a lot because of the publicity he received from beefing with 50 Cent. However, this album is by far his worst.
What Do You Think?

Re: Rick Ross - Deeper Than Rap
The production is amazing. If only Rick False wasn't rapping over it, this album probably would have been a classic.

Re: Rick Ross - Deeper Than Rap
i'd give it a 5.5...really only 2 or 3 decent tracks which is really bad considering it was so hyped up wit the 50 Cent beef and all...he really disappointed me and i already had low expectations to begin with

Re: Rick Ross - Deeper Than Rap
You need to hire a reviewer.
"Maybach Music 2" is a 9, but "Usual Suspects" is a 6. As well as "Rich Off Cocaine."
Your opinion has to be really, really suspect for ME not to even RESPECT it.

I don't take Porky's reviews for too much either but Rich off Cocaine should have been a 0 just because that whole song is based off of a lie

I would get off into all that, but I really hate repeating myself. Especially regarding that.
All I know is that the shit was dope.
I haven't listened to the album yet though.

Re: Rick Ross - Deeper Than Rap
9/10
1. All rappers lie
2. Just because he was a c.o. doesn't mean he didn't sell cocaine
Shit goes hard, that is all.

7.5 for me. Usual Suspects is better than a 6 and Valley of Death is one of the best tracks on the album!
