1: cuz u seemed cool/attractive/funny anything along dat line

I try to call 1st, I usually have something funny or clever to say so it's not a problem.

But if it's a girl I've just met and I sense I might get those silences then I'll text, this allows you to break the ice like you said and then gather something to bring up in a phone convo later.

Do like Wild Bill says, text during the day because you can ask her how her day's going, and you'll seem busy and thoughtful with no real commitment to a full conversation. Then you can call her at night to finish conversing, or the next night.
