Your friend is probably going through some tough and confusing emotions and if he cant confide in his family he needs to that with his homies (in a non-sexual way)- and if you suddenly act all weird around him then surely hes going to be more depressed and do something he will surely regret.

this is something that i just got over. You should continue the relationship with your friend if the only thing that is different is the knowledge of you knowing the others sexual orientation is different than norm. I mean you may not like the behavior, so you dont have to participate in those type of acts but still relate to them as normal. Its the same as having a friend play xbox and you have playstation. I mean you both have different things to play with but you still go out and chill together in a non homo way. I mean most gay people have respect for straight people.

The only thing that is different is that some tend to feed of that fear that people give them of being uncomfortable around them.
