This will allow you to create your own ringtones from your favorite music.

Ok i know what to do now. First you will need the program
POWER MP3 Cutter joiner, its free and its not that much of a trial for you to make a ringtone. I have found out that some ringtones on the SLVR are mp3's and i desided toput an mp3 to the sim card and then move it to phone memory when i did that the phone said that the format is not compatable. and i checked some of the ringtones that were already on the phone and i found out the original ringtones had a bit rate of 64kbps not 128 like most people's mp3 files have and that was all i needed to do.
now for what to do.
1. get your song that you want as a ringtone.
2. get the program POWER MP3 Cutter joiner
3. open the program after installing it, you can get it from a google search if you want.
4. open the file that you want to be a ringtone in the program and then you shall see that there is these bars that say start time, stop time.
5. put in no more that 10-20 seconds of music there, your favorate part. because the SLVR has only 5megabytes of phone memory.
6. do not do anything yet, at the menu bar of the program you will see "option". click on it and a menu shall appear, where the dropdown box says bitrate change it to 64kbps
7. then once you have the time of your song set click on the icon on the top menu, it says "cut" when you do that you can specify the directory of where you want the finished file to go, thats "browse on the bottom" once you have the directory you want it to be saved in click on the cut button.
8. then just check in windows media player or something else the small ringtone that you have created, if you like it. the go on, if not just redo the cut songs part.
9. Connect your SLVR to your computer, it should have came with a cable.
10. whe you do that go to the directory that i have here.
Moble>>Ringtone>> and put your music file in the ringtones folder.
11. once you have successfully put that in. you can disconnect your SLVR.
12. Now is the part where you work in your phone.
13. now cliuck on the top middle button of your SLVR (menu)
14. then go to My stuff.
15. then go to sounds.
16. now click on the middle button again, in any place and click on Swich storage device
17. make sure it is on the Card option, if not, select that option.
18. then you should see your file, we are not done yet.
19. highlight your ringtone and click on the middle button
20. then go to move
21. and then move it to the phone, REMEMBER DO NOT HAVE YOUR RINGTONE BIGGER THAN 2 Megabytes, the one i made is 121 kbps because the phone only has 5megabytes of memory.
22. once you have moved it click on the top middle button again and then click on Swich Storage Device.
23. click on the phone option and you should see your ringtone there then while it is highlighted click on the top middle button again and select Apply as ringtone.

This concludes my little tutorial. Hope you like what you have done. good luck on your new ringtone.

Can you please post the tutorial using the USB cable that was given with the SLVR? I haven't figured out how to put ringtones on it using the USB (but I did manage to find out how to put mp3s). Do I have to use the Motorola Phone Tools 4.0 CD too? Cuz when I put it in my laptop, it doesn't recognize it or anything.
