View Full Version : The fan in my computer will not turn off!!!

The cooling fan inside my computer never shuts off...so when i have to leave it on over night its a bitch....anything i could do?

no. it's there so your computer wont overheat. you might be able to make it run more quiet if you enter setup screen when you're restarting. if you have a dell you press f2 to access it i think.

go down a few options and it should be something about the hard drive noise.

i would recommend turning off your computer and the power source your computer is hooked up to and open the case and make sure the inside isnt dusty.

its good its on. so it wont overheat. a;so when ur not using it put it on standby or hibernate(if u use windows xp or me)

it comes on and stays on whenever your computer is on. if its off thats when u got a problem. i had a motherboard melted cause it was too hot

one thing i know is your computer wont overheat on you...if the fan doesnt stop then It doesnt stop cooling off your CPU......

go with a quieter fan or find some sound dampening materials you can put inside to muffle the fan sound

or something other than the cpu is making that fan work hard and noisy...hard drive problems? components starting to burn?
