How To Get Rid Of Window Update's Nagging RESTART Box
Have you ever updated your WINDOWS and you don’t want to restart and every 5-10 minutes the “RESTART NOW – RESTART LATER” box pop’s up? Anyone who is running Windows XP SP2 knows what I'm talking about. Anyways well now you can remove the annoying pop-up box by following the steps below!
HOW TO GET RID OF IT
- Start
- Run
- Type “gpedit.msc”
- Local Computer Policy -> Computer Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> Windows Components -> Windows Update -> Re-Prompt for restart with scheduled installations
- Right click on "Re-Prompt etc etc" and go to PROPERTIES
- Tick "Enabled" and type in the minutes!
You can configure how often it will nag you (I re-configured it for 720 minutes, which means I'll be asked twice in a day), or completely disable it!
NOTE
For this to take effect you need to restart your computer!
