So today interracial relationships came up with some of my peeps and a group of people.

I made the mistake of saying that all of my relationships were interracial and I had never dated or been with a black girl cuz I never met one I wanted to actually go out with.

They decided to jump to conclusions and assume that this was due to typical stereotypes about black females without even asking me why I had never been with one

I was then hit with a barrage of "This is what's wrong with black men today" comments from the black girls there.

I really didn't know wtf to say, I'm like this aint a fucking race issue.

It was like 7 to 1 and I barely got to put a word in.

I'm like yo if you said you never dated a black dude, I wouldn't be trippin like this.

So yeah, that shit was gay.

Anyone else ever had an encounter with one of these trifflin chicks?

I agree with half of this issue, black chics do make a big deal about niggas goin off and dating interacially, but I don't think it's just black women that have that opinion, I think they just the only race of women to voice their opinion...me being half black and growin up around black people, it's a well known fact to me that black women are very strong, outgoing, and opinionated people and that's a good trait to have because you shouldn't bite your tongue for no one given the right circumstances. I think other race of women may have thoughts/problems with interacial relationships but just choose to not voice they opinions for the simple fact other women are not as verbally outgoing as black women. For example the tables could turn, a white girl could see a white dude in the mall with a black woman, you think the white girl is gonna voice her opinion...hell nah she not. I use profanity when I feel it necessary as a means to express myself.

Admittedly, I've been harassed or threatened by some black females for merely THINKING about being with a white girl, but this insecurity/jealousy/selfishness/misunderstanding shouldn't be prescribed solely to them (especially ALL of them). Fear and ignorance towards miscegany (interracial relationships) is pervasive among all ethnic groups. However I cannot deny that some black women tend to be quite boisterous about this subject.

As BSU president at my college I held a few workshops about interracial dating and other relevant issues. These are some of the perspectives by black females that were brought to light. Let me know what you think.

Black men and interracial dating/marriage:



-I don't have a problem with it. (not a popular answer)

-It leads to a depletion of available good black men, particularly the few [there are more black women than black men with post-secondary education] that are successful and have college degrees (I bet some people were surprised to see that Randal, the winner of the Apprentice, had a black wife.)

-I generally don't find men of other ethnicities to be my type and thus my preference is for black men. Unfortunately this ideology isn't mutual.

-It feels like we're being rejected because we aren't good enough. There are so many negative stereotypes directed towards Black women and it's almost as if they're being validated by black males that PREFER not to be with us. This is very hurtful.

-It's anti-productive towards the progression of Black unity

-Black men are only messing around with other girls because of (insert racial stereotype here) and that's triflin!

To me, she's hustling, doesn't settle for less, always trying to make it better for herself and her family (if she has one), doesn't take shit and if she has a serious problem, she addresses it head on. She understands she makes mistakes sometimes and uses her past to make better decisions for her future. She doesn't buckle during peer pressure, makes up her own mind, but once in a while may take other's advice. If she needs help, she's asks for it if she can't handle it.

That isnt restricted to 'real' Black women, it applies to all 'real' women regardless of colour.

What i was trying to point out is that colour is always brought into the equation and most of the time it is not neccessary. i cannot stand racism or racist people and have fallen out with many people of my own colour, who i once considered friends, defending my partner and other black people yet i am continually told by black women that i will never be good enoough to look after my man, that i wont be able to do his hair or my childrens hair, that i will never be able to cook him a good jamaican meal,etc. y not? cuz of the colour of my skin? thats pathetic. They had to, because I let them know I wasn't going anywhere. And when they found out that I'm a G and that I held my own, they had even more respect for me.
