1. Allow yourself time to get familiar with the machines and the routine. After a couple times you will be able to zip right through them.

2. Curves 30 second stations are designed to overload your muscles, to build them and tone them. Near the end of the 30 seconds you should feel as if you could not do more repetitions.

3. Drink at least 8 oz. of water during your workout. Water regulates body temperatures, protects organs, aids digestion, carries nutrients and moves waste. It makes up 75% of the muscle tissue and 25% of fat tissue. It also hydrates the body of lost fluid during a workout.

4. Never skip a meal. Eating 5-6 small meals rather than 3 big meal will raise digestion activity, increase metabolism and burn more fat.

5. Workout at Curves 3 times of week to reach your fitness goals.

6. For better results remember that the magic is in the machines, so work your hardest on the machines and use the pads for recovery.

7. Use proper form on the machines for good results. Make sure your back is supported, exhale on the hardest part of the machine and do not hold your breath. Correct breathing is essential when working out.

8. Keep your heart rate in the yellow and green target zones. Sustained target heart rate activity conditions your body to access stored fat for energy.

9. Working out at your target heart rate ensures that you are getting a cardiovascular benefit at a safe yet effective level.

10. Stretching after your Curves workout is critical because it helps reduce soreness, fatigue, quality of movement, integrity of joints and stress.

11. Challenge yourself by doing more repetitions on the machines. Have fun, motivate yourself and work hard, then watch the inches and pounds come off.
