The album seems kinda too depressing. He’s like a little bitch throughout the whole album. And throughout the whole thing he uses the voice over machine. Sounds kinda familiar, and R&B album, with the voice machine, and just dropping an album. Oh yeah, T-Pain. And his album is 10 times better. No whinning and alot of energy. Even T-Pain rapped.

Kanye West has proved himself over the years to be one of the greatest recording artists and producer in our generation. The man’s mother just DIED. This album is not about being hard or an ‘ill-ass nigga’. It’s about mourning and making music from the heart that expresses how you feel. THAT is what music is about, expression. So to say he sounds like a bitch is ignorant cause if your mom was to pass (God forbid) you wouldnt be a hardcore gangster rapper either. The album is ill and it will undoubtedly be one of the hottest albums goin into ‘09 along with the Blueprint 3.

All of you saying this album is Hot and His mommy died fuck outta here. Kayne came in as a hip-hop artist behind Jay Z. He soon realized that most his fans are females or gay men like the ones above that like his music so he switched to pop music (Singing about love, Autotune). Kayne cant sing in real life thats why he has to use this autotune voice over shit. Hes not being creative hes being smart and appealing to his audience (females). His album was Garbage, the autotune got boring, the 1980’s style production was sad, Robocop, Coldest Winter, Heartless and Lovelocked down only have like 30 differnt words in them and he just repeats it over and over. In CONCLUSION Kayne was already a pretty terrible rapper, now hes a terrible singer/pop star , stabbed hip-hop in the back. Just becuase your mom dies doesnt mean you have to start singing autotune about robocop.

I just listened to the album I originally thought it sucked when I first ran through the album I gave it about 5 out of 10 his worst cd yet. Then I listened to it again I think…its one of those albums that grow on ya cuz its a new concept and new type of kanye alot of people arent used to hearing. I think now after listening to it 4 times the cd is better than graduation and I give it 9 out of 10 not quite a 10 because the last track with the live shit on it is whack and should not be on the cd. Overall the album is very depressing heres how I rated the tracks

Track 1 - by far the best track on the cd most depressing to 10/10

Track 2 - nice track solid give it 8 out of 10

Track 3 - this track is simply amazing just like the song says 10/10

Track 4 - this track took me a while to get used to but not his best well he isnt known for 1st singles anyways I gave it 8/10

Track 5 through 11 I give straight 9s really twell done and track12 well im not countin that shit but overall a 9 in my book.

Very well done I just kind of hope he has a graduation part 2 or somethin cuz that cd was fantastic right from 1 to 13.

Kanye has been consistent on his first albums, Graduation to me is the best of all of them, all are good but this auto-tune business is fucked up!!!!

this is the first kanye album i wont pay money for?

auto-tune is not the way to go!!!!!!

  9. birdhall31 on November 23rd, 2008 12:16 am

This album is GAY! He totally switched his style up, and I can’t stand listening to this depressing ass album. He’s sounds like Prince too, plus why is he jocking T-Pain’s technique? Roger Troutman is turning in his grave!

  10. fresh on November 25th, 2008 9:46 pm

by far the album of the year

  11. DGAF on November 26th, 2008 7:46 pm

FIRST OF ALL KANYE IS THE PIONEER OF THE AUTO TUNE NOT T-PAIN KANYE STARTED USING IT FIRST, AMAAAAAZING ALBUM

  12. Radio on November 28th, 2008 1:45 pm

Kanye is one of the best lyricist in it but this album was shit…. whoever thinks this is the album of the year you’re dumb as hell. The only song worth listening to is amazing and the only good part to that is jeezy’s verse. You can tell there wasn’t much effort put into this album.

  13. D on November 28th, 2008 6:13 pm

took me awhile for me to get into his first single “Love LockDown” but after goin thru this whole album and being a fan of different genres of music, not just hip hop/rap, it totally rubbed off on me and i keep this on repeat.

fans of ONLY rap/hip-hop might not appreciate this album for what it is, but i give it a 9 because i hated that live track at the end. he shoulda thrown on the Love LockDown remix with R. Kelly as a bonus.

to me, the best songs (in no order) are tracks #1 Say You Will, #3 Heartless (closest to rap you’ll hear Kanye do), #4 Amazing (hip hop inspired beat with Jeezy rippin the track), #5 Love Lockdown, #6 Paranoid (reminds me of a good club joint), #9 Bad News, #10 See You In My Nightmares (Wayne rips it–but doesnt sound as good on Auto-Tune as Kanye or T-Pain in my opinion) and #11 Coldest Winter. the other 3 tracks i’m not a big fan of are still good, i still listen to em, but i dont pay as much attention.

this is living proof that kanye is gay….. i can’t imagine pac , jayz , nas and PUN singing…. is name will go down history as a sulker for love……… so is weezy ..if he doesn’t stop wearing those stupid hats.. with eye and lip bottons.. .. …..

My partner told me he hated the album; then I personally heard it and fell in love with it; and I am not a Common , Soul music fan . Im a Project Pat, gutter music nigga. But his use of autotune is ridiculous, and this album is so different from T Pain, Wayne, or anyone else fuckin with that autotune shit. Kanye proves with this album he is a fucking genius in a industry full of dunces. It is not hip hoip; but that is what makes it so hot . Grow up niggas. I feel this this shit!!

  16. francesco on November 30th, 2008 6:44 pm

I won’t say a bad word for that album because I’m not a hater, but this album certainly is not hip hop. I do listen hip hop, even though there’s a lotta garbage in it nowadays, but I listen to some other music too. I’m sure a lotta people would like it because in general Ye is a talanted artist, but a real hip hop fan would never say this is a hot hip hop album. Personally, heard it once, and I won’t even bother check it again, as a rapper, his albums were good enough to listen repatedly and he was amongs top rappers, (not my favorite type of a rapper but in general amongst top rappers) as a singer or whatever the hell he tries to be, he’s a mediocre and he’s in a space he can’t compete at all, I can easily name 20 by far hotter singing artists. It’s kinda tricky though because he’s still a hip hop artist doing different thing, and I’ve heard Ye before saying he’s Michael Bolton, and heard him saying he’s voice of his generaton and wants to be the new Elvis last week, but honestly I hope he’s gonna find out who he is musically because he’s certainly lost. Because my point is, hip hop fans might like this album even though different, but people who don’t listen to hip hop at all and compare this album to some other types of music would be disapointed. Still, congrats for his new album, and the best part of it, since he came he never makes his fans wait too long.

wow alot of hate for this album and love … i guess thats what it comes down to u either hate it or love it for me i’m right in the middle lyrical this album was pretty good in sum tracks like coldest winter and heartless but if u want a hip hop album then this isn’t for u too all the people who are hating on him cause this isn’t a hip hop album ur right its not in my opinion i would say this is far from a hip hop album the only reason why this is being consider hip hop/rap is due to kanye west name and his previous albums if this was his first album people would categorize this as pop mixed with sum R&B … yes it was a very hard year for kanye west losing his mother his girl with that being said he should have taken this time and reflect on what had happen take sum time off and re focus as eminem did as dr.dre is doing as many artist have done . this is what happens when u rush into this … he said he had fun doing this album i bet all he did was play the drum machine lol this isn’t kanye west this is probably the new kanye … a man i thought was gonna save hip hop didn’t he instead is helping to kill the thing that made him .. over all the album is weak production is really the same on all songs but is he a great artist yes due to the fact he did bring this album out he did do a few good lyrical songs is this a new brand of a music who knows all i do know is this isn’t hip hop so if u are a hip hop fan don’t pick it up if ur a kanye west fan u probably will not notice the different his fans are probably jus saying yeah yeah this is real hip hop lol and thats the difference between hip hop fans and fake hip hop fans .

lupe dr.dre 50 cent eminem jay-z naz common snoop dogg with dre so much to look forward too in 2009 for real hip hop fans !!!

Am I the only one who thinks Wayne’s verse in “See you in my nightmares” was garbage? Don’t get me wrong, Weezy is the shit, but it hella sounded, to me, like he wasn’t really feeling the topic

  20. tiv on December 21st, 2008 11:03 pm

For all of you people out there saying he went Pop!!!???
don’t really understand he went anti -pop and is laughing all the way to the bank.
HIP HOP in it’s current form IS POP music!!! …….
come on people it’s time for hip hop to leave it’s formulated box…
Thug /Gangsta whatever is played. If yall want to make some money more artist
should do what Kanye did and go outside the damn formula of hip hop.

Yeah he used auto-tunes so what !, it’s HOW he used it that made him stand out.
If you Haters take a min and understand what he just did for music you will understand why you’re formula must change or Hip Hop will DIE!!!!
If you don’t evolve……… you DIE, period !!!
Y’all been Rappin about the same shit for over 15years now …
    come on people …
    change your game !
    Peace
